Cookie Policy

Version 2026.10   Effective from October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Finplan Limited, trading as Finplan, Finplan Mortgages and Finlife, uses cookies and similar technologies on www.finplan.ie. It should be read together with our Data Privacy Notice, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They help the site work properly, remember your choices and, where you allow it, help us understand how the site is used. Some cookies are set by us (first-party cookies) and some are set by the providers of services embedded in our site, such as our online booking calendar (third-party cookies). Similar technologies, such as browser storage and pixels, are treated in the same way in this policy.

2. How We Use Cookies

We group cookies into the following categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are active before you make a choice; everything else stays off until you allow it.

  • Necessary – required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choices. This includes security cookies set by our hosting and form providers, and the consent cookie set by CookieYes. These cannot be switched off.
  • Functional – allow our online booking calendar, provided by Calendly, to load on our booking pages. If you do not allow functional cookies, the calendar is not shown on our site and you can book on Calendly’s own website instead using the link provided.
  • Analytics – allow Google Analytics to measure how our website is used, for example which pages are visited and for how long. We use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics cookies are set and no identifiable data is sent to Google until you consent.
  • Performance and Advertisement – we do not currently use cookies in these categories. If that changes, they will appear in the list below and will remain off until you allow them.

3. Managing Your Cookie Choices

When you first visit our website, a consent banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category. You can change your mind at any time by clicking the cookie icon at the bottom-left of any page, which reopens your preferences. Your choice is stored in the CookieYes consent cookie for twelve months, after which we will ask you again.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including deleting cookies that have already been set and blocking new ones. If you block all cookies, some parts of our website may not work as intended.

4. Third-Party Providers

The following providers may set cookies on our website, depending on the choices you make and the pages you visit:

  • CookieYes – our consent-management platform, which records and applies your cookie choices.
  • Calendly – our online booking calendar, embedded on our booking pages. Calendly hosts data in the United States; these transfers are safeguarded by its EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework certification and the Standard Contractual Clauses in its Data Processing Addendum. Some cookies set within the Calendly widget are provided by Stripe (fraud prevention) and Segment (usage measurement) on Calendly’s behalf.
  • Google Analytics – website usage measurement, active only with your consent.
  • Pipedrive and Paperform – providers of the contact, application and feedback forms on our website. Their security cookies, set by Cloudflare, are strictly necessary for those forms to work.
  • WP Engine – our website hosting provider.

Where a provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on an EU adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, as described in our Data Privacy Notice.

5. The Cookies We Use

The list below is generated directly from our consent-management platform and updates automatically whenever our cookie scan changes. It shows each cookie’s name, how long it lasts and what it is used for, grouped by category.

If the list does not appear, your browser may be blocking the script that produces it. You can view the same information by opening the cookie icon at the bottom-left of any page, or contact us using the details below.

6. Changes to This Policy

We review this Cookie Policy whenever we add or remove a service that sets cookies, and at least once a year. The version number and effective date at the top of this page tell you when it was last updated.

7. Contact

If you have any questions about our use of cookies or wish to exercise your data-protection rights, contact online@finplan.ie or +353 1 443 3010. You may also complain to the Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.
